Full Moon = Night Hike

Did some work in Cache County on 7/18, and took advantage of the full moon and cool air for a night walk up Cherry Creek.
Alta the Dog was glad to be out.

Cherry Creek, at the first crossing.

We took a break in a rocky clearing.

Back near the trail head the grass was as tall as Laurie,

and a lot taller than Alta.

Mitton Peak

Skied the east dog-leg chute of Mitton Peak this morning. Shouldn't have. Snow quality was poor. Shifting winds pretty much blew away any new snow that may have been there.
another sunrise, another moon.

Better Than Expected

Got up into the mountains early this morning. Took the S.A.V. and was able to access some upper elevation terrain. This allowed for some drier than anticipated snow. Skied a S/SW aspect that was a little wind buffed, but they were fun/fast/smoove turns. About a foot of new on a frozen crust, but only felt the bottom a couple times. Felt much deeper in sheltered areas.

glad to have the Trabs back. Nice and light, yet they ski so well. Thanks to Mark at Wasatch Ski Distribution as well as randogear
for getting me back on another pair of Freerandos. They are bomber.
cool view/angle of a skin track.

a fun morning.

It was fun to go back to the area where I started earning legit turns. For some reason it had been a while.

Big Baldy Recon

Hiked in the Big Baldy environs this afternoon. I'm ready for snow, bring it on. Managed to not get shot by the hordes of deer hunters in Providence Canyon. Played around a little with the zoom lens.
