Went down to St. George last weekend to watch Kevin run the marathon. Also managed to get a little climbing in.

Lately

August Flowers in the Bear River Range:

We were in the Uintas last weekend for a family reunion, so we decided to scramble up Murdock Mountain off Bald Mtn. Pass before we headed home.

Laurie heads up.

Climbed a really dirty crack up Left Hand Fork with Dad yesterday.
It was called The Oaks.

Rusty old pin.

We ended up walking off, which turned out to be a bushwhack.

Snow Canyon

Switched it up a bit with a little desert climbing. Climbed "Will's Rush", which was the first established route in Snow Canyon. It had kind of an old school feel, and was mellow fun.

Dad, topping out on the long first pitch.

Looking up at the slabby second pitch.

Dad, following on the traverse.

Dad leads the third and final pitch.

Return to Castle Rocks

Had some work to do w/ my Dad in Northern Box Elder County, so we thought we'd drop in at Castle Rocks. Got in 5 pitches before dark, on a fun friction route. Once again, we visited on a Saturday, and once again we were the only climbers.

Bear Lake Monster

Drove up the Swan Flats road and climbed the crack we usually do. Apparently there is a climb up there called the Bear Lake Monster, but I do not think it is actually the one we climbed. Fun crack, I finally led it.

the Monster has sharp teeth:
